A wind farm comprising of 24 Modular Steel Towers erected with Greenkote® tension control bolts has been fully commissioned as of 1st April 2021.
The Karmalinovskaya wind farm in the Stavropol Krai region of Russia has a total installed capacity of 60MW. Each of the 24 wind turbines is assembled using over 9,000 M27 TCBs.
The Modular Steel Tower (MST) is a proven concept in the wind energy market and consists of metal sheets that are transported on trucks. The towers are assembled on site for lifetime connection with preloaded TCBs.
Utilising TCBs means there are no welded connections, and problems with fatigue and cracks are avoided.
By the end of 2021, four wind power plants will be fully commissioned in the Stavropol Krai. These include the 210 MW Kochubeyevskaya wind farm in Kochubeyevsky district, the 120 MW Bondarevskaya wind farm in Ipatovsky urban district, the 60 MW Karmalinovskaya wind farm in Novoalexandrovsky district, and the 60 MW Medvezhinskaya wind farm in Trunovsky district.
The projects are being implemented by Red Wind B.V., a wind power subsidiary of the Russian national group Rosatom. Red Wind is responsible for turnkey delivery of wind turbines and production of their components in Volgodonsk.
