Mabey Bridge constructed the Hitchin Rail Flyover in 2013 to carry trains over the east coast mainline.
The new flyover created a link between the East Coast Main Line and Cambridge allowing more services per hour to and from London, and also reducing delays. By taking the Cambridge line over the East Coast Main Line, rather than across it, Hitchin to Cambridge trains will no longer have to cross three other lines.
MJ Hughes installed the tension control bolts for Mabey Bridge.
