Between the city and the sea on the old harbour, at the entrance of the “Vieux-Port” of Marseille, a national museum, a building of 15,000 square metres is currently under construction.

Conceived by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, it will comprise more that 3,700 m2 of showrooms, an auditorium of 400 seats which can accommodate conferences, concerts and cinema. It will also house a bookstore and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace.

The museum will offer a new glance on the cultures of the Mediterranean Sea.
