New Great Central Railway Bridge

Great Central Railway Bridge
Moore Steel Developments applying finishing touches.

Rail enthusiasts crowd funded this new heritage bridge to replace the original bridge over the midlands Main Line. The original bridge was removed after the closure of the original Great Central line by British Rail in 1969.

Moore Steel Developments of Peterborough manufactured, delivered, and installed the bridge deck.

The bridge was bolted with TCBs. Tension Control Bolts were specified as the distinctive dome head of a TCB is aesthetically pleasing, and for this bridge a riveted appearance was mandatory.
