TCB Support Historic Matadouro Redevelopment in Porto.

TCB recently had the pleasure of visiting valued customer Arestalfer, who are currently working on the historic Abattoir Redevelopment site in Porto, where 5,000+ M30 and M20 TCBs are set to be integrated into the structure over the coming months.

The scheme includes a striking canopy that spans the entire site, creating a sense of unity across the complex. In addition, a pedestrian bridge will link the Matadouro to FC Porto’s iconic football stadium, Estádio do Dragão, enhancing connectivity and integrating the development more closely with the surrounding urban fabric.

The day began with the delivery of a bolt competency training course onsite, where TCB provided hands-on instruction to Arestalfer’s installation crew. The session focused on correct installation techniques, inspection procedures, and safety practices to ensure reliable and efficient performance on site. The crew engaged fully with the technical training, demonstrating their commitment to quality and precision on this landmark redevelopment.

In the afternoon, the visit continued with a trip to Arestalfer’s headquarters, located about an hour south of Porto. There, Macaulay delivered a comprehensive TCB Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentation to the office-based team. The session provided an in-depth overview of Tension Control Bolts, their applications, and technical design considerations, as well as the advantages they offer in modern steel construction. It was a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the team, share knowledge, and strengthen the collaborative relationship between TCB and Arestalfer.
