Excellence in Carbon Management

In line with TCB Ltd & EU climate objectives in relation to CBAM regulation, TCB Ltd can now transparently share emissions calculations data. The data TCB Ltd share,  relates to commodity code 73181595 Screws and bolts, of iron or steel.

Tension Control Bolts Ltd have led the way on environmental matters for many years!  Arnie Glausiusz : Sales Manager commented “… EU initiatives in relation to CBAM reporting are welcomed, though certainly in need of refinement. The CBAM data does not reflect that steel products are inherently endlessly recyclable – not the case for concrete! Further, the CBAM data primarily relates to embedded carbon and emissions at production stage. TCB Ltd have led the fastener industry for many years promoting environmentally friendly Greenkote® coated,  pre-loaded bolting assemblies, TCB Ltd won a Eureka award for innovation over 15 years ago,  no toxic waste gases are released into the atmosphere from our manufacturing facility in Wrexham. TCB Ltd on an industrial estate in close proximity to a major Welsh town as well as rural areas. There are no toxic fluids released into the water table, our production processes are clean and green, visitors are welcome to see this first-hand! This is not reflected in the CBAM data which is now readily available in a pre-designated EU format. The EU spreadsheet format assists comparative evaluation for EU customers; but does not show the full picture. As well as embedded carbon at production meaningful data would also need to reflect he incredible durability of Greenkote®. The associated coating resilience also has further environmental benefits, the bolting assembly life – after installation – is extended dramatically compared to Zinc Flake, Galvanised or Sherardised bolts. TCB Assemblies are frequently integrated to steel structures such as highways or rail  bridges with 125 year design life, inherently the Greenkote® HRC Assembly bolt lasts longer with associated environmental benefits to be reaped; as maintenance and replacement capital and environmental costs are pre-empted.”

The sharing of this CBAM data will assist our European customers and the wider supply chain to meet a legislated compliance requirement.
